New Delhi: Indian External Affairs Sushma Swaraj on Sunday said that Narendra Singh Modi had very clearly said to the Chinese President Mr. Xi Jinping that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) going through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (KoP) was “unacceptable”, thesenlive reported.
During a press conference in New Delhi, Sushma Swaraj said, “Prime minster during his visit took up the issue very firmly and spoke very strongly that the CPEC going through PoK (Pakistan-occupied Kashmir) is unacceptable,”
On the occasion, Swaraj also communicated Indian PM’s concerns regarding CPEC, and said that Indian government had called Chinese envoys to appraise its concerns over the $46 billion project.
The minister kept on saying that an Indian envoy in Beijing had also raised the same issue with Chinese leadership.
The project worth $46 billion and 3000 kilometer-long CPEC was announced during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s official visit to Pakistan in April.
