Islamabad: Amid an escalating war of words between Pakistan and India, army chief General Raheel Sharif on Thursday said there is no need to worry over India’s posturing as Pakistani forces are capable of responding to any “aggression”.
“We know how to respond befittingly to any aggression from India,” General Raheel said, adding that there is no need to worry about anything that India says.
When asked about the security situation in the country, the army chief said, “There had been an improvement and the security situation would further improve in the country. A strategy has been devised in this regard.”
He said this during an informal interaction with journalists at a reception by the Speaker of National Assembly after the President’s address to the joint session of Parliament.
The army chief’s remarks came a day after he said that Kashmir is an “unfinished agenda” of the partition in 1947 and Pakistan and Kashmir are “inseparable”.
